Oh, I like opera singers, but ain’t it funny how they sing? I can never understand a single word!
How many times have we heard this? Whilst we all know the physical motivation that makes it particularly difficult to get a crisp pronunciation on a C6, it still is our job to have the best pronunciation in any language we sing into. Singing and speaking are not the same thing, and additionally to practical difficulties, we have to know specific phonetical and metrical rules that apply differently to each language, and sometimes that vary through different times and repertoires.
